These terms cover your use of this website and the holiday lighting services provided by Northern Star Lighting of Bohemia, New York. By using the site or booking us, you agree to them. Your written quote is the specific agreement for your job. Where it says something different from these terms, the quote wins.
Using this site
Everything on this site, including the photos, descriptions, and any prices mentioned, is there for information only. We try to keep it accurate, but it can fall out of date, and nothing on it is a guarantee or a binding offer.
The photos and text on the site belong to us or are used with permission. Please don't copy or reuse them without asking, and don't use the site for anything unlawful or try to interfere with how it runs.
Quotes and pricing
Any figure you see on the site, or hear from us by phone or text before we've visited the property, is an estimate, not a binding offer.
The price that counts is the written quote we give you after we've measured the property. That's the number you're agreeing to when you book.
If the scope changes, the price can change with it. That includes adding roofline, trees, or product, or changing the design after the install. We'll tell you about any change in price before we do the extra work.
Scheduling
Install and takedown dates depend on the weather, the daylight, and crew availability. We book in order and do our best to hold the date we give you.
We may move a date for safety. High wind, ice, snow, and storms all keep us off ladders and roofs. If your date moves, we'll let you know as soon as we know and give you the next available day.
Service area
We serve Suffolk and Nassau County on Long Island. Jobs outside that area are at our discretion.
What the service includes
Unless your written quote says otherwise, a booking with us includes the following.
- We supply the lights and the hardware.
- We cut the lights to fit your roofline and landscape.
- We install with clips, never staples.
- We set a timer so the display comes on by itself.
- If anything fails during the season, we come out and fix it at no charge.
- We remove the display and store it in January.
Unless your quote says otherwise, the lights, clips, timers, and cords remain our property. You're paying for the design, installation, in-season service, and takedown of the display for the season, not buying the materials.
What we need from you
A few things make the job go smoothly and keep the crew safe.
- Give us safe access to the property on the day, including any gates or side yards.
- Have working exterior outlets where the display will plug in.
- Tell us about any roof or gutter issues you know of before we go up, such as loose shingles, soft spots, or damaged gutters.
- Keep pets secured while the crew is on site.
Photos of finished work
We may photograph completed installations and use the photos in the gallery on this site and in our marketing. The photos show the outside of the property only, and we never publish your address or name with them unless you agree. Our privacy policy has the details.
If you'd rather we didn't photograph your home, tell us in writing, by email or text, and we won't.
Limitation of liability
To the extent New York law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from our services or your use of this site, such as lost time or lost income.
To the extent New York law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from our services is capped at the amount you paid us for those services.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that can't be limited or excluded under New York law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute arising from them, from this site, or from our services will be heard in the courts of Suffolk County, New York.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version here and change the date at the top. The terms in force when you accept your quote are the ones that apply to that job.
